Welcome to Great Warford
The Parish of Great Warford is mainly rural with some small housing developments. Working farms, livery yards, arable and livestock make up the majority of the usable land, as well as a very popular Golf Course. The rolling open landscape reflects this beautiful unspoilt part of Cheshire.
The Parish of Great Warford lies three miles south of Wilmslow four miles east of Knutsford and two miles to the east is Alderley Edge.
There are a number of Grade II listed buildings and houses built in the 1950’s for the former Mary Dendy Hospital.
The local area boast diverse business, two public houses - the Stags Head Hotel (currently closed for refurbishment) and the Frozen Mop -The Wilmslow Golf Course, Warford Park with its adjoining Health Club and Spa and The Willows nursing home. There are several working farms, wine storage warehouse, farrier, and specialist plant nurseries. In line with working practices across the UK an increasing number of home working individuals now that High Speed Broadband is available in some areas.
The next Parish Council meeting will be held at the Baptist Chapel, Merrymans Lane, Great Warford, on Wednesday 15th March 2017.
