Helpful briefings on offer for would-be candidates in May 2019 council elections

Cheshire East Council is to hold briefing sessions for potential candidates for this May’s local council elections.

‘All-out’ borough council elections are due to be held across Cheshire East on Thursday 2 May 2019, on the same day as elections for all of the borough’s town and parish councils.

Candidates and/or their election agents are invited to attend one of the borough briefing sessions for the elections.

Separate briefing events will also be held for town and parish council clerks and potential candidates for town and parish elections.  

The briefings have been arranged to remind candidates of the nomination procedures and other important election matters.

Due to the limited number of places available at each of the sessions, it is important that interested parties contact Cheshire East’s elections team to reserve a place as soon as possible. Entrance will be limited to those who have booked their place prior to the event.  

Briefing sessions will take place on the following dates in the following locations:

  • 18 February: Main Hall, Nantwich Civic Hall, Market Street, Nantwich CW5 5NH. Borough council: 5.30pm start. Town/parish council: 7pm start;
  • 20 February: Council Chamber, Municipal Buildings, Earle Street, Crewe CW1 2BJ. Borough: 5.30pm start. Town/parish: 7pm start;
  • 22 February: Capesthorne Room, Macclesfield Town Hall, Market Place,Macclesfield SK10 1EA. Borough: 11.30am start. Town/parish council: 1pm start;
  • 25 February: Bridestone Suite, Congleton Town Hall, High Street, Congleton CW12 1BN. Borough: 5.30pm start. Town/parish: 7pm start;
  • 28 February: Committee Suites, Westfields, Middlewich Road, Sandbach CW11 1HZ. Borough: 5.30pm start. Town/parish: 7pm start;
  • 1 March: Capesthorne Room, Macclesfield Town Hall, Market Place,Macclesfield SK10 1EA. Borough: 5.30pm start. Town/parish: 7pm start;
  • 4 March: Council Chamber, Municipal Buildings, Earle Street, Crewe CW1 2BJ. Borough: 5.30pm start. Town/parish: 7pm start;
  • 6 March: Committee Suites, Westfields, Middlewich Road, Sandbach CW11 1HZ. Borough: 5.30pm start. Town/parish: 7pm start.
